Caught in the middle

Recently on my way home from band practice the song "Somewhere in the Middle" came on my ipod.  I was sitting there, listening to the lyrics, singin along when I knew them in my out of key voice :), and admiring the violin work that makes Casting Crowns Casting Crowns.  All of a sudden I realized what they were saying.  As American Christians we are caught in the middle.  We believe, but we don't practice.  We preach but we don't follow.  We talk the walk, but don't walk the talk.  Then another revelation hit me (or it might have been the chicken I ate, which was very good anyways) Pastor Brian had talked about this on Sunday.  For those of you who weren't able to attend Sunday morning at CCV we pretty much had a come to Jesus sermon, where Brian acknowledged how he felt he failed in leading CCV and told us about changes to come.  First of all, my hats of to Brian, I really think that he said something that's needed to be said for a long time.  I'm looking forward to what is going to happen to our church in the near future.  Anyway, back to my original topic.  In his sermon Pastor Brian made a comment that, we're in the middle in our faith (again, i could be wrong but i don't think i am).  If I am right he then proceeded to state that this is really the worst place for a Christian to be if they're complacent.  I believe it is, I mean, if you're in the middle, then you believe but you don't live.  I believe that a sin committed in ignorance of the law is not as bad as a sin committed with full knowledge of the law.  So my question is this, are you caught in the middle?  I hope that if you are you will try to move on to become a fully devoted follower of Christ.  I just want to say sorry for my rambling method in this post but ohh well.

Somewhere between the hot and the cold
Somewhere between the new and the old
Somewhere between who I am and who I used to be
Somewhere in the middle, You'll find me

Somewhere between the wrong and the right
Somewhere between the darkness and the light
Somewhere between who I was and who You're making me
Somewhere in the middle, You'll find me

Just how close can I get, Lord, to my surrender without losing all control

Fearless warriors in a picket fence, reckless abandon wrapped in common sense
Deep water faith in the shallow end and we are caught in the middle
With eyes wide open to the differences, the God we want and the God who is
But will we trade our dreams for His or are we caught in the middle
Are we caught in the middle

Somewhere between my heart and my hands
Somewhere between my faith and my plans
Somewhere between the safety of the boat and the crashing waves

Somewhere between a whisper and a roar
Somewhere between the altar and the door
Somewhere between contented peace and always wanting more
Somewhere in the middle You'll find me

Just how close can I get, Lord, to my surrender without losing all control

Lord, I feel You in this place and I know You're by my side
Loving me even on these nights when I'm caught in the middle
